Target Stores security breach and your KeyPoint debit card
Target recently reported that it experienced a major security breach impacting over 40 million credit and debit cards used by customers in its stores. According to Target, the problem has been identified and repaired, but customers who used their cards in a Target store between November 27th and December 15th may have been affected.
Visa and KeyPoint are actively reviewing our members’ debit cards to proactively prevent fraud or misuse.
REMINDER: You are not liable for unauthorized transactions on your KeyPoint debit card, as long as you notify us about them in a timely manner!
Here are steps you can take now:
- 1. Review your KeyPoint accounts online or in mobile banking for any suspicious activity, and notify us immediately at (888) 255-3637 if you suspect fraud
- Continue using your debit card unless you receive notice from KeyPoint that your specific card has been compromised
- Update your email address in online banking to ensure that we can contact you immediately if needed
KeyPoint will notify any affected members, if further action is required by you.
